Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari summary: When spirits cross over into the human world, they can take up residence in old objects and materialize into beings known as tsukumogami. These creatures have different dispositions, ranging from gentle to hostile, and it’s the Saenome clan's responsibility to send them back to their own realm to prevent chaos. Hyouma Kunato is a member of this clan, but he holds a grudge after a tsukumogami stole something significant from him. Concerned that Hyouma's impulsive rage could lead to supernatural disasters, his grandfather exiles him to live with Nagatsuki Botan in Kyoto - an unusual young woman who lives in harmony with tsukumogami.
